MaRINET2 – 4th Funding Call Announced

MaRINET2, the Marine Renewables Infrastructure Network, today announced the launch of its forth call. MaRINET2 is a €10.5m project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, and coordinated by the MaREI (Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland) Centre in Ireland. The project aims to accelerate the development of offshore renewable energy technologies by providing free-of-charge access to a network of 57 research facilities across Europe. SmartBay Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site, LIR National Ocean Test Facility and Queens University Testing Facilities are available for transnational access under this new call. The first three MaRINET2 calls awarded €3.5 million in free testing access to almost 100 users, delivering over 250 weeks of free-of-charge testing at the MaRINET2 network of facilities. The fourth call for proposals runs from 15 August - 30 September and will fund test programmes in operation between 1 January – 30 June 2020.

About MaRINET2 

MaRINET2 is composed of 39 organisations who collaborate to progress offshore renewable energy technologies in Europe. It aims to accelerate the development of wave, tidal and offshore wind energy technologies and infrastructure by opening up access to 57 test facilities across 13 European countries. The project is supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme and builds on the original MaRINET project, which ran from 2011 until 2015. This pan-European network will provide marine energy development companies, entrepreneurs, start-ups and researchers with fully-funded access to marine energy experts and the world's leading wave, tidal and offshore-wind test facilities.
